Sombo Saviye

Executive Assistant

Sombo has been MPP Dr. Adil Shamji’s Executive Assistant since September 2022. In her role she manages both the Queen’s Park and Constituency offices and supports the MPP in establishing community relations. Prior to this, Sombo was the Manager of Finance and Corporate Affairs at the Association of Family Health Teams of Ontario (AFHTO), where she was responsible for the day-to-day operations. She has also worked in the housing sector with the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (Ontario) Region, Willow Glen and Ujamaa Housing Co-ops. She is a Psychology major at Queen’s University. Sombo is happy to contribute to Dr. Shamji’s team in serving the great riding of Don Valley East.

Lorne Levy

Legislative Assistant

Lorne graduated from the University of Toronto with Distinction, earning a Double Major in Ethics, Society & Law and English. Passionate about ethics and public policy, he believes that well-crafted communications strategies play an important role in cultivating political movements. Lorne worked as a Candidate’s Aide in the 2022 Ontario Provincial Election and has experience in marketing, photography, and video production. He credits volunteering on the Sunnybrook Patient and Family Advisory Council, acting as a student mentor with Humanities for Humanity, and founding SELFLESS SELFIES for Lifeline Syria, with solidifying his commitment to public service.

Ahmed Patel

Constituency Assistant

Ahmed is a lifelong resident of Don Valley East where he grew up and attended Don Mills Collegiate Institute. He is a community advocate for better family healthcare and housing in our riding. He is also an organizer; he joins Adil’s team having worked his nomination and general election campaign. Prior to joining Adil’s team, he worked in various roles in retail. Ahmed brings over 15 years of customer service skills he gained to help and serve constituents in our great riding of Don Valley East.

Along with his work as Adil’s Constituency assistant, Ahmed supports Adil with Community outreach, relations, engagement and the Don Valley East Provincial Youth Council.

Petunia Wigglebottom

Petunia Wigglebottom is Adil’s 3 year old golden retriever/cocker spaniel mix. She is a happy, people-loving, and incredibly friendly dog who endears herself to every person she meets. Just like Adil, she loves swimming, long walks and is perpetually hungry.
